I don’t snack often, but when I do, I want it to be good. These items listed
below remind me of candy bars without as many carbs. I also like peanut
butter and these products sure do fit the bill.
I get tired of fruits and vegetables as snacks and these are individually
packaged and can go with you anywhere.
Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bars
If you are looking for a wonderful snack that is filling and you like peanut
butter and nuts, this is it!!! I stumbled across these just by accident because
my last favorite snack item disappeared from my store’s shelves. When you
open the package you see nuts, oats, almond pieces and crisp rice. It also
has a peanut butter coating only ½ way around it. It does seem to have a lot
of corn syrup and sugar in it but I haven’t ever been impacted by it. I have
used these when I am hungry and heading out the door or I don’t have time
for lunch.

Skippy Snack Bars
I told you about the snack that disappeared from the shelves of my most
frequented grocery store. Well, that product is: Skippy Snack Bars. They
come in 4 varieties, although I have only tried 2 of them. The flavors are:
Peanut Butter and Strawberry, Peanut Butter and Marshmallow, Peanut
Butter and Fudge, and Peanut Butter. I ate these like I do the Sweet and Salty
Granola Bars.
The first 3 varieties come in a chocolate coating and the Peanut Butter one
comes in a peanut butter coating. The bars are layered with the granola bar,
a layer of peanut butter and then a layer of either strawberry, marshmallow or
fudge. Except of course the peanut butter one. It just has a layer of peanut
butter.

Every once and awhile I get the hankering for something different to drink.
Let's face it..plain water gets old really fast. Here are a couple of ideas for
you to consider.
Lipton Green Tea Mixed Berry Flavor
It is actually supposed to be good for you. Green tea naturally has
antioxidants. This particular kind says it has 75mg of those oxidants. Tea
has no carbs so it is a free food. You can either drink it hot or cold.
The other kind of tea I have been drinking is:
Celestial Seasonings Wild Berry Zinger
It is Caffeine Free and a 100% natural herb tea just like the Green Tea
above. On the box of this tea, it says it has less than 1g total carbs. Basically
I still see this as a free food. This one is good either hot or cold too.
I have a hard time with the general Lipton black tea. My mom always made
me drink it when I had a stomach virus. Brings back horrible memories of
being sick. No matter how I dress it up, it still makes me want to be sick!
Both Lipton and Celestial Seasonings have many flavors. Just check them
out at your local grocery store and see what you can find!!
My kids, age 9 & 11 and both boys, eat all of these snacks and drink the tea
cold. They aren't particularly interested in hot tea, the prefer hot chocolate.
Happy Snacking and Tea Drinking Everyone!!!
