THE ONE'S YOU DON’T WANT TO ASK
Q. What will happen if I go to a restaurant and have a good slap up meal?
A. It depends on how your body copes with the extra carbohydrates and also
what kind of diabetes you’ve got.

Your blood glucose probably will go up 270 - 360 mg/dl  (15 – 20 mmol/L) or
even higher.

You’ll possibly get the following symptoms:

Feel tired and irritable for some time after the meal

If you already have peripheral neuropathy you may get burning and

tingling in your feet and even hot needle like shooting pains

Blurred or double vision if blood glucose really high

Itching

Sore mouth

Ringing in the ears

But:

You’ve had a great meal and you only do this once in a while and the

symptoms will go away.

However (there’s always a however):

Ask your doctor first before you have that great meal.
